Relax for some time at your hotel property and have lunch. Late afternoon, we proceed to Cellular jail, Fisheries Museum & Carbyn's Cove Beach and also see the Light and Sound Program at Cellular Jail where the legend of the freedom struggle brought alive. Overnight stay at Port Blair. Cellular Jail: The famous Cellular Jail has a pride of place in India’s freedom struggle. Many a stalwart were imprisoned here. The three-storey prison has been declared a national memorial, constructed by Britishers in 1906 and is a pilgrimage destination for freedom fighters. This colossal edifice has mutely witnessed the most treacherous of inhumane atrocities borne by the convicts, who were mostly freedom fighters Andaman is known for its beaches, and in the evening, you will be taken to one of the most fun beaches in the islands. Fisheries Museum: Fisheries Museum is a well-known tourist attraction in the Andaman Islands. This popular sightseeing place of Andaman has a wide range of installations with informative coverage of the islands’ ecosystem, plants, animals, tribal communities and marine life. This museum includes a small aquarium that houses various collections of fishes and corals and shells. This museum is located adjacent to the Rajiv Gandhi Water Sport Complex, Port Blair. And this place exhibits species of marine life endemic to the islands. Carbyn Cove’s beach - Located 8 km away from Port Blair, Carbyn's Cove beach, fringed by swaying palm trees, is famous for its sparkling blue water. The amazing view of the beach against the emerald water is simply breathtaking and refreshing. Apart from its surreal beauty, the island offers various water adventures like water scooter, jet skiing, and boating. Around the beach, there are many restaurants, serving delightful cuisine. Light and Sound show at Cellular Jail - In the evening proceed to attend the enthralling Sound and Light Show at the Cellular Jail – the saga of countless martyrs of the Indian independence struggle. The show conducted in the premises of Cellular Jail, gives us a brief idea about the happenings in the jail prior to India's independence. Return to your hotel for comfortable overnight stay. Note: Incase Light and Sound show at Cellular Jail is called-off due to weather and maintenance conditions, efforts will be made to arrange for alternate sightseeing and also to arrange for the show at some other time during the itinerary, only if time permits.
After early breakfast in the hotel, depart at 0900 from Water Sports complex in a boat to see under- water marine life and varieties of corals at North Bay (Snorkeling and Glass Bottom at extra cost). After North Bay, proceed to Ross Island. Once the administrative headquarters of the British and capital of these Islands, the island is now under the Indian Navy. It stands now as a ruin of the bygone days with the old structures almost in debris. There is a small museum named 'Smritika', it holds photographs and the other antiques of the Britishers relevant to these islands. The island is famous for friendly flocks of deer and lush green walking trails.
Today, we start our journey towards Havelock Island via ferry from Port Blair Harbour. On arrival at Havelock Island, our representative will receive and escort you to Beach No 7* (Radhanagar Beach) rated as the ‘Best Beach in Asia’ by Time Magazine. Get transferred to the jetty for the ferry to Port Blair. Upon arrival in Port Blair check-in to your hotel. Havelock Island - The Island (often just called Havelock) is one of the most beautiful and largest islands of Ritchie's Archipelago and is a placid heaven like no other. Situated 57 km north east of the South Andaman’s with an area of 92 Sq kms. She offers a breath taking trail of nature expeditions. This picturesque Island with beautiful sandy beaches and lush green forest is also rated as the seventh most beautiful island in the world. It hosts to o the world’s most renowned beaches vijay Nagar Beach and Radha Nagar Beach. Spend the day relaxing on this beach. Radhanagar Beach - Situated on the south coast of Havelock and lined with lush coconut palms, Radhanagar beach is one of the most popular beaches of Andaman due to its pristine white sand and crystal clear waters. While here, one could either relax on the silky sand flanking the turquoise blue water. The beach has various cafes where you can relish from local to global cuisines. With its mesmerizing sunsets and sunrises, this beach is a must visit for all beach lovers.
Depart to Baratang Island by road through the dense tropical forest and Jarawa Tribal reserve in a convoy. Often you might see a member of the Jarawa Tribe while passing through the tribal reserve. At the end of this forest journey you would reach Baratang jetty. Launch service is available to cross the sea bay. Enjoy the breathtaking fiber boat ride through a fascinating Mangrove drive, which leads to the start point of the trek to Limestone caves. Trek through dense forest to reach the Limestone Cave. Made up of the mineral calcite (calcium carbonate) the cave contains beautiful cave formation. After Lunch Visit Mud Volcano A short ride from the Nilambur jetty and another 160m walk up a rocky path are what it takes to reach the mud volcanoes. These small muddy craters are created by natural gases emitted by decaying organic matter underground that push mud upwards. Please note that this is not a visually stunning sight, as most of the time there is just a pile of dried or small bubbling puddles of mud. However, Andaman is one of the few places in the world where these Volcanoes are found and you may thus want to give it a visit. Return back for an overnight stay at respective Hotel at Port Blair by the same route.
Anthropological Museum- One of the best, and well-maintained museums of Andaman, Anthropological Museum sheds light on the profound and informative portrait of island's local community of tribes. These tribes are considered as one of the oldest in the world. Situated at the Middle Point in Port Blair, this best sightseeing place in Andaman is a historical delight and makes the tourists explore the life of Paleolithic Islanders. The major exhibits of this museum are Jarawa chest guard, shamanic sculptures and much more. The Anthropological Museum offers the highlights of primordial eras of Jarawas, the Onges, the Sentinelese, the Shompens and the Nicobarese. After breakfast at hotel, Check-out and transfer to Anthropological Museum the Port Blair airport. Being an Island surrounded by Sea, the Wind direction plays an important role in the weather of Andaman Islands. And the Islands are susceptible to cyclonic Conditions at least twice in a year, especially in the last week of November and the First Week of December.
